Hello! ^_^ My name is Josselyn and I’m currently pursuing a degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Yep, I‘m your run-of-the-mill pre-med student with an aspiration of becoming a doctor. Two years ago I decided to join APHP. Since then, APHP has become a big part of my life. I can’t really express just how grateful and happy I am to be part of the Humanitarian Committee this year. For me, volunteering isn’t just about racking up as many hours as you can and/or making your resume/CV look good. It’s about what you are able to give back to your community. I hope that members can find organizations, opportunities, and events that they enjoy volunteering at. During a typical school day, you will usually find me in the quiet section of the library. When I’m not studying I like to relax by getting lost in the never-ending pit of YouTube videos, dramas, Reddit posts, reading, and sewing. I also like to go hiking and camping, even though it’s something that I very rarely do. I love being out and enjoying the fresh air, observing and taking in everything that nature has to offer. In fact, I have always wanted to build my house surrounded by nature. On another note, college is tough! There will be times when you feel lost and discouraged, but don’t give up. It will get better! Everything will be okay. If you ever need anyone to talk to, suggestions on what classes or instructors to take, or just random facts. I'll be glad to answer your questions and hear you out!

Hey everyone! The name is Shannen (yup, it’s spelled with an E and not an O) and I’m one of your Humanitarian co-chairs! I’m from San Jose, CA but have basically lived in Henderson for a majority of my life. I’m currently a Kinesiology major with a minor in Sociology. I’m hoping to get into medical school after undergraduate to become a pediatrician! I love the idea of helping kids and adolescents because of my own life experiences. I just feel like I can relate to them and let them know that I’m someone they can trust because I’ve been where they are. My life is basically school and work, but I can be fun! Outside of my school and work life, I enjoy traveling to a bunch of different places as well as having the time of my life at various music festivals! I can also play the guitar, ukulele, piano, cello, and double bass. I’m excited to be an officer for APHP! The organization not only benefits ourselves but our community, which is so significant!
